Privacy Policy

1. Overview

BuildDavis is a non-commercial, community Minecraft project. We collect minimal data and do not sell, share, or monetize any personal information.

2. Data Controller

The data controller for this project is the BuildDavis project owner, reachable via Discord or the builder application form on this Site. BuildDavis is a hobby project, not a registered business entity.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

• Legitimate interest — Server logs (IP, username, in-game actions) are processed to operate the server, prevent griefing, and enforce rules. This is necessary for the functioning of a multiplayer Minecraft server.
• Consent — Builder application data is submitted voluntarily. You may withdraw consent at any time by requesting deletion.
• Legitimate interest — Anonymous web analytics (Cloudflare) to understand site traffic. No personal data is collected.

5. What We Do Not Collect

• No email addresses (unless you voluntarily submit one in the builder application).
• No tracking cookies or advertising identifiers.
• No real names, payment information, or location data.
• No data from minors is intentionally collected. If you are under 13, do not submit a builder application.

6. Cookies

The builddavis.org website does not set any cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first and does not use cookies or track individual users.

7. Third-Party Services & International Transfers

• Formspree — processes builder application form submissions. See Formspree Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare — provides anonymous web analytics. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Apex Hosting — hosts the Minecraft server. Server logs are retained per their policies. See Apex Privacy Policy.
• GitHub Pages — hosts this website. See GitHub Privacy Statement.

All of these services are based in the United States. If you are located in the EU/EEA, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent) for international data transfers.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & Global)

If you are in the EU/EEA or a jurisdiction with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure — Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction — Request that we limit processing of your data.
• Portability — Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Object — Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us on Discord or via the builder application form. We will respond within 30 days. If you believe your rights have not been addressed, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children's Privacy

BuildDavis does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or under 13 in the US per COPPA). The Minecraft server does not require registration beyond a Minecraft account. If we become aware that a child under the applicable age has submitted personal data through the builder form, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
